MIKE KILBURN TAKES CONSERVATIVE MESSAGE TO VOTERS WITH LIVE HOUR-LONG RADIO SPECIAL

Cincinnati, OH – 2nd Congressional candidate Mike Kilburn announced today that he will re-air his special hour long radio appearance from last Saturday due to an outpouring of what can only be deemed overwhelmingly positive feedback. Kilburn stated: “Our campaign decided to do something very few politicians have the courage to do last Saturday when we went live for an hour to discuss the issues. The positive feedback we have received has been so positive that we have decided to replay the program for any voter that may have missed it the first time.”

 
DOE Seeks to Invest up to $60 Million for Advanced Concentrating Solar Power Technologies
WASHINGTON – U.S. Under Secretary of Energy Clarence “Bud” Albright today announced the issuance of the Solar Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for up to $60 million in funding over five years (Fiscal Years 2008-2012), which includes $10 million in FY 2008 appropriations and $10 million in the FY 2009 Budget request, to support the development of low-cost Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) technology.

DHS Announces New Aviation Security and Traveler Screening Enhancements
April 28, 2008 (Baltimore, Md.) – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced today improvements aimed at strengthening aviation security while decreasing the hassle factor for travelers. Among the key improvements, DHS is providing airlines more flexibility to allow passengers to check in remotely who have been unable to do so because they have a name similar to someone on a watch list. The department also unveiled the Checkpoint Evolution prototype, which begins full operation at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) today.

Sheriff's Office Investigates Shooting

Allan Fryman Sr.Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger reports that on April 26, 2008 at approximately 12:50 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to a call of a shooting at 1300 St. Rt. 763 near Aberdeen, Ohio. The caller had advised the Communications Center that her husband, Allan Fryman Sr., had shot their son, Allan Fryman Jr.

Area graduate particpates in Disney-themed Greek Week at UC

In 10 minutes on the hot seat of a dunk tank, University of Cincinnati freshman Sara McRoberts of Mount Orab raised $38 for the Greek Week fundraiser this month.

McRoberts, 19, is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Her participation in the dunk tank was part of the Disney-themed Greek Week at UC that raised $33,000 to grant the wishes of four area children sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year's Greek Week campaign raised $11,000 more than last year.
