Benefit Dinner and Dance to be Held for Hospice of Hope |

The Sons of the American Legion, The American Legion Post 367, and the Women’s Auxiliary present the annual Benefit Dinner and Dance for Hospice of Hope. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 10th at the American Legion Hall, 2944 Elk River Road in Ripley, OH. A roast beef, pork & chicken dinner will be served from 4pm – 8:00pm with the dance starting at 9PM featuring live music from the Night Owls. A cake auction will also be held that night at 6:30 p.m. as well as other auctions and games throughout the evening. Tickets for the dinners are $7.00 each and dance tickets are $5.00 each and may be purchased at the door. Carry out dinners are also available for local delivery the day of the event by calling (937) 392-1586. Mayor of Higginsport arrested on warrants |

The mayor of Higginsport in Brown County was arrested on three outstanding warrants. Jason Kirschner was arrested around 7 p.m. Monday night.
He is charged with intimidating a witness, criminal damaging and obstructing official business. No other information about the charges was immediately available.

Maysville Police need your help |
|
The Maysville Police continue to search for a man wanted in an alleged robbery and fleeing on Friday morning April 17, 2008.
Joshua Gilbert, age 20, of Ripley was being detained with four other suspects for a break-in and robbery at 217 West Second, when he escaped police custody in his handcuffs.The Maysville Police Department described Gilbert as a white male, 5' 9" tall and weighing 165 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes and is still at large.
