Sheriff Arrests suspect for abduction |

Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger reports that on June 15, 2008 at approximately 1:30AM, the Sheriff's Office received a report from a male subject, 58 years of age, from the Ripley area, who reported that he had been held at gunpoint for 2.5 hours at a campsite on Stringtown Road North of Aberdeen and was not allowed to leave. The victim stated that he had been in the area to pickup a friend who needed a ride.

Sheriff Arrests Juevenile in series of vechicle thefts |

Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger reports that the Sheriff's Office investigated several reports of stolen vehicles from June 6 thru June 9, 2008 from the Mt. Orab and Georgetown areas. The Sheriff=s Office has arrested a 17 year old male juvenile from the Georgetown area, who has confessed to the thefts. A total of 8 vehicles were stolen during this period and all have been recovered.

Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger reports that on May 16, 2008, Deputies from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located at 1171 Sicily Road, Mt. Orab. Deputies located drugs (marijuana), drug paraphernalia, firearms and other items were seized from the residence.
